As Business Support Associate I, Kristin Stanek communicates with DQE customers daily. She’s responsible for sending welcome letters, FOC dates, and other updates requested during the order process. She also update our contracts and coverages and assist the enterprise sales reps with order processing, including Fiber@Home orders.
Before working at DQE, I was a Starbucks barista and shift supervisor for about six years. I learned so much about coffee and even wore the coveted black apron signifying I was a coffee master! Needless to say, I always have a cup of coffee in my hands.
I studied abroad in London, Dublin, and Edinburgh during my senior year of college. It was the most amazing experience, and I had the opportunity to visit Paris and Amsterdam while I was across the pond! I hope to travel there again someday!
When I am not working, I am either at the gym, reading a good book, or playing video games. My favorite games include Animal Crossing: New Horizons, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Subnautica: Below Zero, and Star Fox Adventures.
My favorite project so far at DQE has been working on Fiber@Home, DQE’s fiber-optic Internet. As a relatively new service, it has been challenging and rewarding to create new procedures. I cannot wait to see where it goes from here!
Three career lessons I have learned thus far involve teamwork, time management, and self-care:
Taking a quick coffee break and resetting your mind can only lead to better productivity the rest of the day!
